Santa Fe launched!

Hyundai Motors India Limited has finally launched the much awaited Santa Fe in India. The Santa Fe in India is launched in two variants the 4X2 and 4X4, both of them manual with 6 speed gear versions. Sadly, the automatic version which is doing well in other countries is missed in India! :(

Santa Fe is powered by a 2.2 ltrs CRDI powerplant that delivers an power output of 197 PS. Both the models come with ABS with EBD, 18 inch alloy wheels, projection head lamps, 6 airbags and roll sensors that automatically deploy the side and curtain airbags in the event of a roll.

Hyundai has fixed a price band starting from 20 lakhs to 22.5 lakhs. Santa Fe will be imported to India as Completely Built Unit (CBU). This could attract high maintenance costs as the spares also have to be imported. Hyundai has already failed this CBU model for India in their earlier models Terracan and Tucson. Let us wait and watch how Santa Fe does in India!
